
Yang Li is a creator who works at the intersection of art and science, dedicated to experimenting with new technologies and exploring diverse fields. He creates experiences/experiments to explore the potential beyond cognition in our personal, social and technological space. Using diverse media including mural, installation, digital model, video and participatory experimentation, his work centres around collective behaviour, material information storage, and the boundaries of perception. Including Sex Sell interactive installation experience, responding to art’s challenge to societal desires (power, money and sex); Cloud Cloud Cloud series, applying virtual space technology to curatorial projects with Raiden INST in the metaverse online exhibitions; and the collaborative project The Voxel Ark, combining immersive interactive experiences with NFT technology, advocating for endangered animal protection.
Yang Li, as an artist, has engaged in diverse exchanges and collaborations with organizations, including CERN (Switzerland), Joya: Air Residency (Spain), and Creative Computing Institute (UK). His works have been widely exhibited in art galleries and public spaces, including Tate Modern, CERN, Times Art Museum (Beijing, Chongqing), Sea World Culture and Art Center (Shenzhen), and West Bund Art & Design Fair (Shanghai).
Yang graduated from Central Saint Martins with a master’s in Art and Science after his B.F.A from Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing (Classical Murals of the East and West).
